Michael is a fourth-generation San Franciscan. HIs practice broadly explores the encompassing INSPIRATION from flora and fauna to the expansive cosmos, translating these themes into graphic beauty. Michael’s diverse practice explores a variety of traditional and contemporary painting techniques and intentionally leaves visible traces of handcrafted marks which are rooted in his twenty-five plus years from his furniture design/build career. Color theory, texture, and patterns play an essential role in every piece. Michael continues to live and work in the city by the bay with his wife, two children, and husky dog.

The BoWo Co. is named after Michael’s maternal great grandfather’s fine jewelry shop which was located in Chinatown on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
